Beteropweg was a project of the municipality of Haarlem that ran from 2017 to mid-2022. Employees of more than 85 companies in Haarlem participated. They used the Livemobility BeteropWeg app to register their commuting. The aim was fewer car kilometers during rush hour for commuter journeys and therefore less traffic jams. Participants could experience how easy and fun it can be to leave the car parked. With the app they earned points. With those points they could order presents in the Beteropweg webshop. In 2022, Beter op weg marked time. Together with the municipality of Haarlem, Parkmanagement is now looking at the options for the follow-up.
The main results of Beteropweg
At more than 85 participating organizations, a total of 103,958 commuter trips were detected, of which;
🚲 70,423 trips by bicycle
🚌 4,697 trips by public transport
🚗 23,949 trips by car
The total number of commuter kilometers was 1,109,406 of which;
🚲 518,104 km by bike
🚌 129,470 km by public transport
🚗 461,832 km by car
By using the bicycle, total CO2 emissions have been avoided by an average of 64 tons. Together they cycled for 3,728,069 minutes, consuming 18,640,345 Kcal. 🙂
The app was developed in 2017 and has been continuously adapted to the requirements of mobility projects, such as Beteropweg. The investments to update this app no longer outweighed the development of a new app. The Livemobility app for Beteropweg has therefore stopped on August 1, 2022.
Livemobility's GoedeReis app, which has now been launched, offers employers a solution for introducing and managing a vital and emission-reducing mobility policy. All options have been developed for the employee and the employer to save emissions, costs and time and to increase the vitality of employees and the environment.

That is why employers from the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area and the Municipality of Haarlem can apply for a trial period for the new GoedeReis app from Livemobility.
